a little preview of my first-semester senior thesis, Lady Cottontail: Knight of the Warren! It's a middle-grade graphic novel following a rabbit knight and her journey through multiple animal kingdoms to find her warren's kidnapped princess. this is just a taste of the full thing, which right now comes in at 46 pages for just act 1! I plan to continue it next semester of course but working on it for the last few months has really given me a new love for these characters. and a new hatred for drawing trees. i drew so many trees. anyway :) i hope you like it lol

Aster: I got your note… So, uh.. wha-… Aster: Woah-.. I-I mean, what’re you doing?! [Robin shrugged casually, smacking his lips together to make a kissing noise] Aster: Aha.. not here! Maybe-… [Aster looked over his shoulder skittishly as Robin tried not to roll his eyes, Aster was almost as bad as Levi] Aster: Do you maybe wanna come over? [Robin offered Aster an agreeable shrug, nodding slightly] Aster: I usually get the bus, but… [Robin snickered at Aster’s confusion; all the buses would be long gone by now] Aster: I’ll ring my mom-.. but, like.. you’re just a friend, okay?

Robin stifled a sigh, running his fingers along his lips in a zipping motion before following his classmate. He supposed Aster was kind of cute, though he seemed a bit boring and uptight if Robin felt like being honest. He’d much rather have kissed Alex, but his inability to read her left him feeling terrified by the idea. What if she was repulsed by him? Robin could imagine her recoiling, a look of absolute horror marring her features as she exclaimed “You’re like a brother to me!” He’d surely ruin their friendship then. She’d probably convince her father she wanted to go home and never speak to him again-.. it’d be too awkward. Robin propped himself against a lamppost, watching with a squint as Aster seated himself a suitable distance away. He might not have been head over heels for the guy, but Robin figured he ought to give him a chance-.. maybe Levi was right, maybe dating Aster would change everything. Either way, at least he was sure Aster liked him enough not to scream when he kissed him.
